Fawlty Towers
Fawlty towers is the best example of British comedy to date, the irrepressible Basil Fawlty (played by John Cleese) amused a huge audience with twelve episodes all situated in the unforgetable hotel in Torquay. The series was based on the actual experiences of the Fawlty towers production team, and first appeared on 19th September 1975. The show also stars numerous other members such as his wife Sybil, whom plays an equally heated role, Polly, who plays a mild mannered assistant to Basil, and Manuel. The numerous episodes are an account of the comings and goings of numerous guests, the humerous nature however stems from the interplay between the main four.
